After almost 30 years in operations at every level from those days in Paris that I spent as a waiter to Director level roles I was always aware of one huge and important thing. The Hospitality business runs best when the people involved are inspired to lead. To quote Lee Cockerell, I did the job till I learned how to manage, then I managed until the Team learned the job, then I led until the Team knew how to manage and I kept on leading until they learned how to lead. Then I retired. I established the principles of the The Spinning Plate over many years and fine tuned it as part of my Executive Coaching (ILM Level 7) Qualification in 2016 and now the time is right to put it work.
