The Spinning Plate is a Performance Improvement Specialist Consultancy.

Founder, Nick O’Donnell, has combined an international Senior Leadership career spanning 30 years, and working in the UK, France and the US, with a post-grad Masters Degree in Executive Coaching and Mentoring to create a series of sessions and tools that help people achieve more.

All sessions and tools are suitable for work with Individuals and Teams and the results speak for themselves.

Effective Delegation

The Spinning Plate Effective Delegation Plan allows leaders to produce a clear process that gets every project off to the best possible start. It is an easy to repeat process that allows future plans to land and, also, to assess why previous plans might not have delivered.

This is a 2 hour session from groups of up to 12 followed by 6 monthly 1 hours sessions to check progress.

Multi Purposing Tasks

When every task is set with consideration of how many key Management and Leadership Competencies can be baked in, it increases the overall levels of competence, capability and confidence. Competencies like improving Teamwork, Problem Solving, Decision Making and Results Orientation. Multi-purposing is the new Multi-tasking and it produces great results.

This is a 2 hour session for groups of up to 12 and 4 to 6 monthly one hour one to one sessions to track progress.

 

Mission, Vision and Values

If you get your Mission, Vision and Values right it makes future decision making easier. It makes it easier to recognise performance levels at all levels. What would someone new to your organisation imagine what your Mission, Vision and Values are just through the interactions they’ve had in the first few days?  Is it time for a rethink?

This is a half day session informed by a series of 1 hour one to one conversations with stake-holders to establish their opinions on where things currently are. 

Engagement and Retention

Focusing on Team Engagement is a key Leadership Competency. Investing in the development of Teams and Team Members is a powerful way to demonstrate their value to the organisation and the belief that this is the best place for them to grow and to build a career they can be proud of for their benefit and for the benefit of the organisation.

This is a series of 6, or more, one hour, monthly one-to-one Executive Coaching Sessions specifically for anyone with responsibility for Teams within the Organisation.

About The Spinning Plate

Nick O’Donnell founded The Spinning Plate in  2016 as a project to encourage more people to consider the benefits of having a coach or mentor.

Having his early career at one of the most powerful brands in the world, the Walt Disney Company,  Nick saw immediately the power and impact that excellent coaching and mentoring could have on an individual.  Coaching and mentoring are two of the key strengths of Disney executives.

At Disneyland Paris in France, Nick was part of the Disney University Team that developed and delivered their world famous training and development programs.

There is no doubt that the experience of working for the Walt Disney Company had a profound impact on Nick’s career, and his Spinning Plate concept was developed in consultation with Lee Cockerell, former Executive Vice-President of Walt Disney World in Orlando and Disneyland Paris.

Nick has also worked in leadership roles for the global restaurant group Planet Hollywood, the incredible Group Flo in Paris, and Mitchells and Butlers in the UK, among others. In any industry these days, leaders need to think on their feet 24/7.  Having managed teams large and small, Nick has learned what works and what doesn’t. It comes down to turning actions into results and Nick has had substantial success across all the organisations he has represented.

Since Nick qualified as an Institute of Leadership and Management Executive Coach and Mentor (Level 7), he has seen excellent results blending the learnings from the qualification with his own principles, encapsulated in The Spinning Plate approach.

The results have been impressive:

From 2014 through 2018 Nick was coaching Senior Leaders in the Hospitality sector and saw sales grow each year on average by 5%, Guest Satisfaction Scores improve by 8%, EHO ratings shift from 70% 5 Star to 90%, Operational Excellence ratings improve by 15%, Team Engagement improve by 5% on average.

As well as strong results in important business metrics, Nick’s clients always talk about the impact The Spinning Plate method has on their lives outside work too.
